I'm Timothy Daniell, the founder, and I'd like to share our story with you.
Background in maths, data science, product
I’ve been working building products for 15 years, working in product and data science teams for European growth companies. I studied maths, statistics, and economics, and that been the theoretical foundation for my data-driven approach to all aspects of work.
Solofounder, e-commerce, boostrapped with grant
I’d been toying with side projects for e-commerce for years - I love the scale of the interaction data, and the homogeneity across stores. After working for several years as a data consultant, in 2023 I was given a grant by the Danish Innovation fund to work on Curvature.
My favourite way of building products is with a small, hands-on remote team, where the founder is leading the conversation with every customer.
AI Price Experiments Concept
The idea for Curvature has its genesis in my employers and consulting clients often asking me to run price experiments. The opportunity is significant, as price changes can have a big and immediate impact on profit. But running experiments is tricky: applying the concept of price elasticity with statisitical rigour, and interpreting the results, takes craft.
talking to customers who had given up using alternative tools, I understood they wanted a product that didn’t require code changes on their site, where the results are clear, and that gave them strong recommendations on what to do next.
I’ve spoken to over 50 e-commerce managers over the last year about how they approach pricing and discounts, and after hearing their stories of messy price A/B tests, and even messier spreadsheets, I’ve understood the kind of tooling that they really need.

Future goals and vision
Curvature will remain focussed on pricing and discounts, and I want it to become the complete tool for that purpose. My aspiration is to continually improve the AI to make accurate recommendations that adapt to each store, while at the same time retain my own personal dialogue with our customers to ensure they get the most out of the technology.
